(Downtown Disney Station

The fastest way to get from the resorts and Downtown to Disneyland is the Monorail. It is on a 2.5 mile track and the ride lasts about 2 minutes. It even goes THROUGH The Grand Californian Hotel. How cool is that? We rode it to and from when it was up and running. It did close down often due to "inclement" weather. If you ask the employees at the station, you can ride in the front or back with the large windows. The panoramic views are amazing. We got to sit in the back often. We never got to sit in the front, however. Only five are allowed in the front and we are six in our family. One of our favorite things to do was to count down when the monorail would pass across the Golden Gate Bridge in the California Adventure park. It was fun because we couldn't see it until we were passing through it. We never did get the timing right.

We did take other modes of transportation around the park. We took the Disneyland railroad which takes you in a circle around the outside of the park. We also rode in a double-decker street car on Main Street. We didn't get to ride on top because of the rain. Too slippery up there. We mostly walked though. Sometimes walking was dryer than sitting on wet seats.

I love the Disneyland Diaries! I'm so glad your vacation turned out great in spite of the weather. You gave me some great pointers on travel and staying in a resort for when we get to go in ??? years:}. I just love your family. You are a wonderful mom, even to those boys you don't know what to do with. Sorry to miss you at brunch today.
