GO PANTHERS!

Snohomish High School is steeped in TRADITION! Every year at the end of homecoming week they have a Serpentine parade, where all the kids dress as crazy as possible in Red, Black, and White. Kids go to a lot of effort and sometimes make these elaborate costumes. Shaney even spent an evening with some friends painting t-shirts for the parade. They get all dressed up and march around the town. The football players, the Royalty, the cheerleaders, the band, clubs, classes, all in their respective order. We are one of the only high schools in the country that still do a serpentine parade. The elementary schools from town show up, towns people and parents come to see the kids march in the parade. It truly is an amazing sight to see a wave of red, black and white marching down 5th street! (It should be....we have 1800 kids and still growing, even though our district just finished building a brand new high school just a few miles away to alleviate the crowding. And that high school is growing faster than projected.) What a fun day when Serpentine comes around!

This is the masses marching down 5th street and I am somewhere in the middle. Next year I'll try to get video from the bottom of the hill...now that's imressive!

And Shaney looks adorable. Brings back memories or high school for me because that is what we did.
