Twelve Is A BIG Number

In my family, when the last group of children were successively the same gender, they were referred to as the "little boys" or  "little girls" instead of individually referring to them by name.  I was one of 3 girls at the end of the family and so was referred to as one of the "little girls" for as long as I could remember.  At the tail end of the David O. Weller family we have 2 boys.  Matthew and Ryan have always been called the "little boys".  Matthew turned 12 today.  And I am realizing that I will not be able to call him one of the "little boys" for very much longer.  He is quickly growing out of little boyhood and growing into manhood.  Matthew will always be MY little boy no matter how BIG he is.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little "big boy"!!

The Missionaries came over to help us celebrate and even
gave Matthew a purple tie. His LUCKY color!

A note from Matthew's teacher:
We sang to him, 
wrote his name big on the whiteboard, 
he was recognized at our whole school assembly, 
we had birthday treats, 
and a classmate brought him a gift! 
I think he had a great day. J
